Welcome to The Skyline Hotel
The Skyline Hotel, nestled in the heart of New York City at 725 10th Ave, offers travelers a solid balance of comfort, convenience, and city charm. With a respectable rating of 3.9, this establishment invites guests seeking an authentic urban experience without the exorbitant New York price tag.
Guests consistently highlight the hotel’s prime location near Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and the bustling commercial district famed for Broadway theaters and high-end dining. While a short walk from the “hustle and bustle” of Times Square, the Skyline provides a quieter retreat, allowing visitors to enjoy both accessibility and respite from the city's constant energy.
The rooms are described as spacious and clean, with comfortable beds that ensure restful nights after busy days exploring the city. Many appreciate the panoramic views of iconic skyscrapers visible from the rooms, painting a quintessential New York skyline that never grows old. However, some note that the decor feels dated and certain maintenance issues, such as water drainage in tubs and noise through windows, could be improved. These imperfections aside, daily housekeeping and friendly staff contribute to a positive stay. Staff members, including standout personnel like Isabel, receive high praise for their warmth and attentiveness, reinforcing a welcoming atmosphere.
Amenities enrich the guest experience with thoughtful conveniences such as free Wi-Fi, on-site parking at a competitive rate, an indoor heated pool, a fitness center, and pet-friendly accommodations. The adjoining restaurant El Original adds culinary value, offering a taste of local flavor without straying far. Although the rooftop pool is temporarily closed, the indoor pool and well-stocked bar provide relaxing alternatives.
What strikes one most about The Skyline Hotel is its honest, no-frills approach to New York hospitality. It embraces the city’s vibrancy yet remains grounded, presenting a practical choice for families, business travelers, and tourists alike. While it may not boast luxury’s gloss, its strengths lie in genuine service, strategic location, and value for money—hard commodities in a city where every dollar counts.
Ultimately, The Skyline Hotel reflects the city it inhabits: authentic, dynamic, and welcoming, if imperfect. It captures the spirit of New York—a place where the view from your window tells a story, the staff greets you like a neighbor, and every stay unfolds with the pulse of the urban landscape just beyond your door.

This was a great hotel definitely for the price. The staff was phenomenal especially Isabel .The only issue we had was the water was filling up in the tub/shower it must have been a drainage issue. But the view of the room was great we was able to see the tall buildings around us such as H and M buildings from our location. The hotel location was great, it wasn't far from Time square maybe a 15 or 20 minute walk..There are places to eat across the street. Perfect !!!
Decent room, clean, spacious. It's a bit of a walk to times square but it's good that you're away from the "hustle and bustle" (noise) of times square. Elevators weren't working at one point but they quickly fixed the issue. Friendly, knowledgeable concierge. The restaurant El Original that is attached is pretty good too.
This hotel exceeded my expectations for a New York City hotel. We pulled up to on sight parking for only $10 a day throughout your stay. Went inside to check- in and the staff is super friendly. As my family made our way to the room we talked about the experience being great so far. The room we were given was nice and clean but the air conditioning seemed to not be working. I called the front desk and they sent a technician up within minutes. Turned out the A/C was broken and I thought “here we go”. The hotel was apparently booked and another room was looking to be out of the question. To my surprise wishing 10 minutes they were upgrading us to a bigger and even nicer room The entire stay was great at the skyline hotel. I absolutely recommend staying here. The pool on the penthouse level was clean and had a lifeguard on staff the entire time. Just a great experience. Very short walk to both Central Park and Times Square.
The rooms were dated pretty much the same as when I stayed there 18yrs ago. Plenty of storage space for clothes & beds were very comfortable. Bit dusty behind bedside table & grouting needs renewing in bathroom but beds were clean. Rooms were cleaned every day & fresh towels provided. Disappointed no tea making facilities in room. The complimentary drinks in foyer were only open for a few hrs in the morning. Staff were very friendly helpful & efficient with the exception of one. This has been reported to the manager. We weren't informed of the $22 daily service charge until we were checking out. We did not feel there was enough of a service provided to warrant this.
Surprised with all the negative reviews. I haven't stayed here in a number of years but this place used to be mint and was a bargain for the money. It used to be $20 to park your car unlimited as long as you didn't take it out and you were staying in the hotel. And the rooms were reasonable and clean and the views were excellent. The rooftop pool was mint. I think they were closed for a while during covid. I hope they didn't screw up an excellent place
We stayed at the Skyline Hotel over Memorial Day weekend. There were four of us, including two teenagers and we were all pleased. The location is great - just blocks from the water and Times Square. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were extremely comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. It would be great if the pool were open earlier in the afternoon, but it was fun to be able to swim indoors with great views of the city. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it. Also appreciated the affordable parking and being able to leave the car while we explored the city before and after checking in.
Was only there to visit a friend who was in from Palm Springs. A well stocked, though expensive bar helped him to adjust to the time change. The service gets 4 stars for the buckets of ice. They were delivered in less than 5 minutes! A well lubricated guest, keeps the party going!
4 1/2. Basic but spacious. Nice views of the city on the penthouse level. We were on the 4th floor and the window has no noise insulation so you'll hear all the noises. We brought sleep music so that blocks out the noise somewhat. The indoor heated pool is a plus. The guy who works at the pool (with the beard) is super nice! The front desk staff is ok. The price is awesome! No problem with AC.
